This is our minimum for an interlock restoration — two visits, full equipment and crew are the cost drivers on small areas, not the square footage.
Keeping it there. Qualifying restorations carry a 3-year joint warranty. Keep the yearly Annual Maintenance & Warranty visit — around $385 +HST for a typical patio or walkway, larger surfaces more — and that coverage runs to 5 years.

What the free visit pins down
Your price range becomes an exact written proposal after David walks the surface. He determines:
- Exact measurements — every surface measured on site with a precision measuring instrument, so curves, steps and irregular edges are counted, not rounded off. It typically lands inside 1% of the true area.
- How hard the old sand has set — the state of the joints decides how much effort removal takes. David tests it on the spot.
- Sunken or heaved spots — a preliminary check, area by area. We usually find more once the surface is cleaned and the furniture is off it, so treat this as the scope we are proposing rather than the final count.
- Open edges — whether edge restraint is needed to lock the perimeter.
- Past sealers & stains — old coatings change the prep; rust and oil get their own treatment.
Anything the visit adds appears as its own line on the proposal — priced with you before any work begins, never a surprise on the invoice.

Common questions.
Is the range binding?
It is a range built from our real labour, equipment, and material costs — and it assumes the surface as you described it. The free on-site assessment prices what is actually there: sometimes the bottom of the range, sometimes the top, and occasionally outside it when the joints hide surprises. The written proposal that follows is the number we stand behind. Prices exclude 13% HST.
Why two visits?
Restoration done properly needs the surface bone-dry before polymeric sand goes down. Visit one: deep clean, full joint extraction, and steam into the joints where weeds are growing. Visit two, after drying: premium sand and plate compaction. One-day shortcuts lock moisture into the joints — we do not offer them.
What about sunken or heaved areas?
Relevelling is real structural work that has to be assessed in person — no calculator can price it accurately. If your surface has sunken spots, send the request anyway. David quotes relevelling separately at the assessment.
How soon can the work happen?
In season, most restorations are booked one to three weeks out. The free assessment happens much sooner — usually within days — so your written proposal and queue position are settled early.
Can I seal it later?
Yes. The restored joints cure into ideal condition for the CAT5 satin finish, which can be added any future season through Interlock CAT5 Seal & Renew.
